PaedDr. Marie Hofmannová

Has been a member of staff at the Department of English Language and Literature since 1990. She specializes in TEFL methodology, leading seminars and lecturing on methods and SLA theories. She is the director of studies for the in-service teacher training. She supervises diploma theses and is responsible for the teaching practice of pre-service teacher trainees at upper secondary schools. Her area of research is Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) – the teaching of Mathematics through the English language. Since 1998 she has participated in four European projects within the Lingua and Comenius 2.1.framework. She takes active part in conferences on Mathematics education and TEFL. She has lectured on TEFL Methodology in a numer of foreign universities including The University of Auckland, New Zealand and at the University of Honolulu, USA.
